For my Blog I have to actually write my own double page spread article. This took a while to do and to decide what to write about. I decided to write about a new released album. The article is as followed:
"New rising star James Caetano sits down with us to discuss his new album release “Tonic”. This is there second major album since 2012 and they hope it will be as successful as the last award winning album “Taken”. I started by asking James how he thought this album would compare to his last success? James answered by saying “ I think that Taken was something spectacular, it changed the way that a lot of people saw me as an artist and I think that has helped me to become the artist I currently am. But Tonic is different, it includes things that I didn’t think would work on Taken and also I have had a chance to
develop things to make a better piece. I’m not saying people are going to enjoy Tonic more than they enjoyed Taken, I just believe it will be a new experience for them”.
This was very interesting for me to hear because I was a great fan of Taken and I believe this has made me and probably a lot more fans excited for Tonic. To follow the previous question I asked James what he wanted to get out of new album Tonic? James answered by saying “Well if I got a reaction anything like the reaction I got for
Taken then I would be happy. I just want people to enjoy the new stuff and to respect it like they respected Taken.”
I wanted to know why James kept comparing everything back to Taken, was this because he thought he couldn’t do any better than the award winning album? “Well I think it is hard not to compare… any of my work to Taken” James answered. “When you make such a good piece which people enjoy so much, you want to achieve what you have already achieved”. “But also you need to take inspiration from what you have already achieved, that is what has helped me move forward and achieve what I wanted to”.
I was then interested in what James had planned for the future. I wanted to know if he was planning anything new after Tonic, or if he was just concentrating on Tonic, making sure it could achieve everything possible. James answered by saying “Well there is nothing in the diary (Laughs). But obviously I am always thinking about new things that might work and sound good. This could be possible stuff that could feature in a new album. But right now Tonic is my main priority. I really want it to do well and I really want it to be successful. So really until I know what happens about Tonic, I can’t say”.
Tonic which is released next week is going to be crucial to the future of James Caetano. And hopefully it can be
successful. James is someone who will be appealing to everyone and I think if you havent heard him before you are in for a treat. When I first heard him he reminded me instantly of a young Noel Gallagher, but he just struggled because he didn’t have a Liam to hand. But know that he has found himself and understands what he is doing he is appealing to more and more people.
One of the famous things that James has done is, when he was just a young lad, living in Sheffield. He went to see Ray Davies live. But his musical love made him want to do more than listen to him, he wanted to meet him. So he snck after the show and actually met his idle. This inspired James and actually probably helped him to be who he is. James has recently said “When I first met Ray, I was inspired and wanted to be like him and to achieve what he achieved”! This just shows that passion James has about his music and I really think that we will hear a lot more of James in the future".
